FedEx Rates Information

Once your nine-digit FedEx account has been linked to the USC contract rates, you will have access to USC’s contract rates when you log in to fedex.com.

Contact Mailing Services to confirm that you are receiving the correct rates.

For instructions on how to set up a FedEx account and link it to the USC contract rates, refer to the FedEx Account Setup Quick Reference Guide (see Related Documents, located at the bottom of this page).

Surcharges

  • Residential Surcharge: USC’s FedEx Express and Ground rates are marked up when the delivery is to a residence. The markup ranges between $1.50 and $3.00, depending on the type of shipping service.
  • Fuel Surcharge: Because of high fuel costs, FedEx may charge a fuel surcharge for some express services.
  • Ground Shipments: FedEx may charge an $11 fee for ground shipments. This fee can be avoided if the ground shipment is picked up by Mailing and Material Management Services.

Rate and billing adjustments

When your shipment arrives at FedEx, it is reweighed. If you incorrectly estimated the weight of a shipment in fedex.com or if additional fees applied to your shipment (such as a customs fees for international shipments) your P-Card statement or ASR (for Outgoing Mail Requisitions) will reflect any adjustments.
