Mail Stop
The Mail Stop is a satellite center for Mailing Services located in McCarthy Way Structure (formerly Parking Structure X – PSX) on the University Park Campus. Our convenient location provides an array of shipping options, postal solutions and Post Office (P.O.) boxes for students, faculty, staff and departments.

Mail Stop goods and services only
Departments can also purchase stamps or other mailing supplies with a Mail Stop Requisition. All purchases must be made in person and the requisition requires an authorized signature. (do not use the link for Mailing Services Outgoing Mail, your outgoing mail may be delayed).

Postal services
The Mail Stop staff weighs, measures and meters items for delivery to the United States Postal Service (USPS) for the following domestic services:
- First Class
- Priority Mail
- Express Mail
- Parcel Post
- Media Mail
- Library Rate
Forms for the following options are also available:
- Insured
- Certified
- Return Receipt
- Track and Confirm
International service is available for First Class, Global Priority Mail and Express Mail. Customs declaration forms are required to send out packages and must be filled out on the kiosk in the lobby or on any computer you can access.
All mail (except Express Mail) is delivered to the USPS the same day at 5:00 pm. Express Mail deadline is 2:30 pm daily.
Post Office boxes
The Mail Stop offers rental of small and large Post Office Boxes to students, faculty and staff (see Related Documents, located at the bottom of this page). Your USC ID card must be presented when submitting an application and will be verified for active status.
Email notification is provided when box holders receive mail that has a tracking number, for perishable items or when a substantial amount of mail has not been picked up. You can also call the Mail Stop to find out if you have received mail.
Stamps
Stamp denominations ranging from Forever stamps (remain valid even when the rate increases) to USPS Express Mail are available at the Mail Stop. All stamps are sold singly unless indicated as book, coil or sheet.
In addition to Forever (books or coils), USPS Express Mail and other smaller denominations of stamps, we also sell postcard, Priority Mail, and Global stamps.
Shipping supplies
Supplies such as boxes, envelopes and labels for USPS Express Mail, Priority Mail and FedEx shipments are available free of charge.
Supplies for purchase include:
- Padded jiffy bags
- Shipping boxes
- Mailing tape
- Business envelopes
- 9” x 12” manila envelopes
Package tracking
Outbound package tracking is available for items shipped from the Mail Stop via the following carriers:
Inbound package tracking is available through Mailing Services’ internal package tracking system.
Contact the Mail Stop to track your package if you are unable to track it on the delivery service’s website.
Drop boxes
Drop boxes are located in front of the entrance to the Mail Stop for your convenience. Refer to Pick-up and delivery on the Mailing Services page for specific drop-off deadlines.
- USPS box for stamped or metered mail. Must fit inside the box.
- FedEx drop box for prepaid items or items with an air bill that has a valid FedEx account number in the Sender or Bill Recipient box. Must fit inside the box.
- USC Cardinal Collection Box for interdepartmental mail, stamped mail or Outgoing Mail Requisition mail. Please make sure your requisition is taped securely to your mail piece(s).
Other services
UPS Ground and FedEx
The Mail Stop will accept packages across the counter that are being shipped via UPS Ground or FedEx if the air bill has a valid UPS or FedEx account number.
Faxes
Outgoing domestic and international fax service is available for $ .90 per page (domestic), and $4 (international). You can also receive faxes at this location for $1 per page.
