Members of the USC community are be able to conveniently browse and purchase gently used equipment, furniture, and other items through our online store, all from the comfort of their computer or mobile device. It’s a great way to find quality items at affordable prices while supporting sustainability efforts and helping keep usable goods out of local landfills.
Follow the simple steps below to get started and be added to the USC Surplus Sales buyers group:
1. Register using the link below:
Look for the “Register as a Buyer on Public Surplus” on the left hand side and click the “Buyer Registration” button.

2. Use your USC email address in the email field:
Be sure to enter your @usc.edu email address when registering.
If you’re an alumni, you can use your @alumni.usc.edu email instead. Don’t have an alumni email? You can request one here: https://alumni.usc.edu/faq/
When you reach the username field, use your USC email address but replace the “@” symbol with a period “.”
4. Let us know when you’re done:
Once your registration is complete, send a quick email from your @usc.edu (or @alumni.usc.edu) account to surplus.sales@usc.edu
We’ll confirm your registration and add you to our USC Surplus Sales buyers group, giving you access to upcoming surplus listings.
5. Visit the USC Surplus Store site:
Make sure you login once you reach the site and you’ll be able to browse and buy surplus items:

6. After you have paid for your items – Pick-up hours by appointment only:
Upon receipt of Notice of Award and proof of payment (do not setup and appointment without paying for your items), the successful buyer/bidder must schedule the pickup of your item(s).You must bring to the pick-up location (1) the Notice of Award with Proof of Payment, and (2) USC ID. You must present both identification items at the scheduled pick-up, or the purchased item(s) will not be released to you.
